An Electrical In-Charge (or Electrical Area In-Charge) manages all electrical, instrumentation, and automation operations, maintenance, and safety compliance in an industrial or manufacturing plant. Job Summary The Electrical In-Charge ensures safe, reliable, and continuous operation of plant electrical systems, transformers, switchgears, panels, motors, and control equipment. The role minimizes downtime through preventive and breakdown maintenance while enforcing strict safety protocols. Key Responsibilities • Maintenance Management: Plan and execute preventive, predictive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance for all electrical and automation systems. • Fault Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical malfunctions quickly to reduce production downtime. • Team Supervision: Lead, assign tasks to, and monitor electricians, shift technicians, and contractors. • Safety & Compliance: Enforce electrical safety standards (such as LOTO/work permits for HT/LT systems) and comply with statutory/regulatory norms. • Spares & Inventory: Track critical electrical spares, handle inventory purchases, and manage maintenance logs (e.g., SAP PM). • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with production, mechanical maintenance, and instrumentation teams to ensure seamless plant operations. • Reliability Analysis: Implement root cause failure analysis (RCFA) or equipment failure analysis to prevent repeat breakdowns.
