Purchase Executive For Fabrication Plant

Job Title: Purchase Executive Department: Purchase / Procurement Industry: Fabrication / Steel / Heavy Engineering Location: Urla, Raipur, Chhattisgarh Job Responsibilities: Handle day-to-day procurement of raw materials, fabrication materials, consumables, spare parts, tools, safety items, and maintenance materials. Purchase materials such as MS plates, angles, channels, beams, pipes, welding electrodes, welding wires, gases, fasteners, bearings, electrical items, and mechanical spares. Identify and evaluate suitable suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers. Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate rates, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions. Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of materials. Coordinate with production, stores, quality, maintenance, and accounts departments for material requirements. Follow up with vendors for pending orders and resolve delivery-related issues. Verify material specifications, quantity, quality requirements, and purchase terms before placing orders. Maintain vendor records, quotations, purchase orders, comparative statements, and procurement documentation. Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable supply. Assist in vendor development and vendor evaluation. Monitor market prices of steel, fabrication consumables, and other industrial materials. Ensure purchases are made within approved budgets and company policies. Coordinate with stores and quality teams during material receipt and inspection. Handle urgent procurement requirements during production and maintenance breakdowns. Prepare regular purchase reports and maintain proper documentation. Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Graduate with relevant procurement experience may also be considered. Experience: 2–5 years of purchase/procurement experience in a fabrication, steel, heavy engineering, or manufacturing plant.
