AGM ELECTRICAL HEAD FOR SID

An Assistant General Manager (AGM) Electrical Head for the Steel Industry Division (SID) leads the plant's electrical, instrumentation, and control infrastructure.Role OverviewPosition: Assistant General Manager - Electrical (Head)Division: Steel Industry Division (SID) / Steel Melting Shop (SMS)Level: Senior Leadership / ManagementCore Focus: Ensuring zero-downtime power reliability, maintenance execution, safety compliance, and power optimization.Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Management: Oversee High-Tension (HT) and Low-Tension (LT) power distribution, transformers, switchgear, VFDs, MCCs, and PCCs.Plant Operations: Maintain uninterrupted power supply to critical steelmaking units like Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF), Ladle Refining Furnaces (LRF), Continuous Casting Machines (CCM), and EOT cranes.Maintenance Strategy: Drive preventive and predictive maintenance (PM) programs and root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures.Utility & Auxiliaries: Supervise pump houses, water supply drives, and Fume Extraction Systems (FES).Energy Optimization: Monitor power factor, voltage, and load demands to reduce energy losses and operational costs.Team Leadership: Manage electrical engineers, shift technicians, and cross-functional coordination with mechanical and production departments.Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), and 5S standards across the facility.RequirementsEducation: B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.Experience: 12 to 20+ years of industrial plant experience, specifically in steel or heavy manufacturing sectors.
