An Assistant General Manager (AGM) of Mechanical Maintenance for a Steel Melting Shop (SMS) leads all mechanical operations, upkeep, and reliability for heavy machinery like furnaces and continuous casting units.Core ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Management: Direct preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for induction furnaces, electric arc furnaces (EAF), ladle refining furnaces (LRF), and continuous casting machines (CCM).Equipment Reliability: Monitor critical mechanical assets like EOT cranes, heavy-duty pumps, hydraulic systems, and material conveyors to reduce shop floor downtime.Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Lead engineering investigations for major equipment failures to eliminate recurring mechanical defects.Spare Parts & Inventory: Oversee critical spare parts stocking, vendor finalization, and procurement planning to support urgent shutdowns.Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards and statutory machinery testing.Requirements & QualificationsEducation: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering.Experience: 10 to 20 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance and leadership experience in a steel manufacturing plant (induction furnace or EAF/CCM route
