An Assistant General Manager (AGM) Manager for Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) in a power plant leads overall departmental operations, maintenance strategies, and power distribution systems to ensure high plant uptime and efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesPlant Operations & Reliability: Lead E&I maintenance strategies, automation, and control systems across power plants and utilities to maximize uptime and efficiency.Power Distribution: Manage high-tension (HT) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) switchyards, transformers, and grid connections.Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with production, maintenance, quality, stores, and administration teams for seamless daily workflows.Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to electrical safety regulations, statutory compliances, and quality standards.Resource & Team Management: Handle manpower planning, team development, departmental budgeting, and spare parts inventory.Process Improvement: Drive operational excellence, cost optimization, and preventive/corrective action implementations.
Required skills
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or Electronics (B.Tech/B.E./B.Sc).Experience: Typically 10 to 15 years of extensive experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within power plants, steel plants, or heavy manufacturing.Key Skills: Strong leadership, high-tension system handling, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination.
