An assistant electrician helps licensed electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare Materials: Cut, strip, and bend wire, and measure or cut conduits.Assist Installation: Lay conduits, pull cables, and mount basic lighting fixtures, switches, and outlets.Maintain Job Sites: Organize tools, clean work areas, and pass equipment to lead electricians.Follow Safety Rules: Wear protective gear and adhere to local electrical safety codes.
Required skills
High school diploma or a 10th standard pass, often paired with vocational training.Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in tight spaces or at heights.Basic Skills: Familiarity with hand tools, basic electrical math, and reading simple blueprints.
