About this role
A Civil Engineer plans, designs, and oversees the construction and maintenance of building structures and public infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and water systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Planning: Create structural blueprints and detailed designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software like AutoCAD.Site Inspection: Conduct on-site investigations, monitor progress, and ensure work conforms to design specs and safety standards.Feasibility & Risk Assessment: Analyze survey reports, maps, and soil test results to evaluate project viability and environmental impact.Project Management: Manage project budgets, forecast timelines, and coordinate material and equipment purchases.Compliance & Coordination: Submit permit applications and liaise with architects, contractors, and local authorities to meet legal and safety codes.
Required skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.Licensing: State or regional professional engineering license (such as a PE) if offering public services.Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D), technical math, and project estimation.Soft Skills: Problem-solving, leadership, and clear written and verbal communication
