About this role
A strategic manufacturing leadership role responsible for steering end-to-end capital expansion, modernization, and Greenfield/Brownfield construction projects for Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) / Sponge Iron plants. This position drives complex metallurgical installation, rotary kiln or shaft furnace integration, and utilities management from conceptual engineering through commercial commissioning.
Required skills
Core Technical Competencies (DRI & Steel Sector) Metallurgical Process Knowledge: Deep technical expertise in Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) production technologies, including coal-based rotary kilns, gas-based shaft furnaces, and associated reduction chemistry. Plant Infrastructure & Utilities: Hands-on execution experience with auxiliary systems including Waste Heat Recovery Boilers (WHRB), captive power plants, gas cleaning plants (GCP), electrostatic precipitators (ESP), and bag filters. Materials Handling & Heavy Equipment: Mastery of heavy mechanical installations such as Raw Material Handling Systems (RMHS), heavy conveyors, crushers, screens, material charging systems, and sponge iron cooling drums. Refractory & High-Temperature Engineering: Comprehensive understanding of refractory selection, brick lining, thermal insulation, and heat management for high-temperature pyro-metallurgical reactors. EPC Project Lifecycle Management: Full-cycle execution expertise spanning front-end engineering design (FEED), detailed engineering, equipment procurement, civil structural erection, and hot/cold commissionin

Gas-Based DRI Technologies: Specialized execution experience with modern shaft-furnace technologies (e.g., Midrex or Energiron) alongside coal-based rotary kilns. Environmental & Green Steel Integration: Familiarity with carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) integration, hydrogen-ready reduction shafts, and waste-gas heat optimization for decarbonization in the steel sector. Advanced Automation: Working knowledge of Level 1 and Level 2 process automation systems, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and PLC integration for high-temperature metallurgical plants.
