About this role
Responsible for managing and supervising automobile and heavy-vehicle operations in the DRI & Rolling Mill plant. The role includes vehicle maintenance, breakdown management, preventive maintenance, driver coordination, fuel control, and ensuring the availability and safe operation of all plant vehicles.
Required skills
Strong knowledge of heavy commercial vehicles and plant equipment Expertise in diesel engine troubleshooting and maintenance Knowledge of hydraulic, transmission, clutch, brake, steering, and electrical systems Experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance Ability to reduce vehicle breakdowns and downtime Knowledge of tippers, dumpers, loaders, tractors, forklifts, cranes, and trucks Strong team handling and manpower management skills Good knowledge of spare-parts and inventory management Ability to prepare and maintain maintenance, fuel, and breakdown records Knowledge of vehicle safety and statutory compliance
Good to have
Strong knowledge of heavy commercial vehicles and diesel engines. Knowledge of hydraulic, transmission, braking, steering, and electrical systems. Experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance. Knowledge of Ashok Leyland, Tata, BharatBenz, Volvo, JCB, CAT, or similar heavy equipment is preferred. Good team-handling and manpower-management skills. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
