About this role
Collect samples of raw materials, process materials and finished products as per SOP.
Ensure proper sampling from different production/process points.
Label, record and safely transfer samples to the laboratory.
Maintain sample identification, tracking and documentation.
Assist laboratory personnel in sample preparation and testing.
Ensure samples are representative and free from contamination.
Maintain sampling equipment and keep the sampling area clean.
Follow laboratory quality, safety and SOP standards.
Coordinate with Production and QC teams regarding sampling requirements.
Maintain daily sampling records and reports.
Required skills
Raw material and process sampling techniques Knowledge of sample collection, preparation and handling Ability to follow SOP and quality standards Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment Sample identification, labeling and record keeping Basic knowledge of chemical/physical testing Good observation and attention to detail Accurate data recording and documentation Knowledge of PPE and laboratory safety Ability to coordinate with QC and Production teams Basic computer knowledge Ability to work in shifts Good communication and teamwork skills
Good to have
Experience in Steel / DRI / Ferro / Sponge Iron plant laboratory Knowledge of raw material sampling – Iron Ore, Coal, Dolomite, Limestone etc. Knowledge of sample preparation and handling Basic knowledge of chemical & physical testing methods Familiarity with Laboratory SOP, QA/QC standards Knowledge of sampling frequency and sampling procedures Experience with Lab equipment and instruments Good documentation and sample traceability skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Knowledge of 5S and laboratory safety Ability to work in rotational shifts Good coordination with QC, Production & Process teams Basic knowledge of MS Excel and Lab MIS
