About this role
Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of DRI mechanical equipment.
Attend maintenance of Rotary Kiln, Cooler, Crusher, Conveyor, Gearbox, Fan, Pump and other rotating equipment.
Carry out dismantling, inspection, repair, alignment and assembly of mechanical equipment.
Check and maintain bearings, shafts, couplings, chains, belts and gearboxes.
Identify mechanical faults and take corrective action to minimize equipment downtime.
Perform equipment alignment and replacement of worn-out mechanical components.
Coordinate with maintenance engineers and production teams during breakdowns.
Execute preventive maintenance activities as per maintenance schedule.
Maintain maintenance records, tools and spare-parts requirements.
Follow SOP, safety procedures, PPE and 5S standards.
Guide junior fitters and technicians during maintenance activities.
Required skills
Strong knowledge of mechanical fitting and maintenance Hands-on experience in DRI / Sponge Iron plant maintenance Knowledge of Rotary Kiln and Cooler maintenance Experience with Crusher, Conveyor, Gearbox, Fan and Pump maintenance Bearing replacement and shaft/coupling alignment Knowledge of mechanical tools and measuring instruments Ability to read basic mechanical drawings Strong breakdown troubleshooting skills Preventive and predictive maintenance knowledge Good understanding of lubrication and equipment inspection Ability to work safely at height and in plant conditions Good teamwork and communication skills Ability to work in rotational shifts Knowledge of 5S, PPE and industrial safety standards
