About this role
Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of RMHS (Raw Material Handling System) equipment.
Maintain belt conveyors, crushers, screens, feeders, hoppers, chutes, pulleys and gearboxes.
Perform dismantling, inspection, repair, alignment and assembly of mechanical equipment.
Attend breakdowns and identify mechanical faults to minimize plant downtime.
Check and replace bearings, belts, rollers, couplings, chains and other mechanical components.
Carry out conveyor belt maintenance, tracking and alignment.
Perform equipment inspection and lubrication as per maintenance schedule.
Coordinate with Production, Electrical and Maintenance teams during breakdown and shutdown activities.
Maintain tools, spares and maintenance records.
Follow SOP, PPE, 5S and industrial safety standards.
Guide junior fitters and technicians during maintenance activities.
Required skills
Strong knowledge of RMHS mechanical maintenance Hands-on experience in DRI / Sponge Iron / Steel Plant Knowledge of belt conveyors, crushers, screens and vibrating feeders Experience in gearbox, bearing, pulley and coupling maintenance Conveyor belt alignment, tracking and replacement Mechanical fault finding and breakdown troubleshooting Preventive maintenance knowledge Ability to use mechanical tools and measuring instruments Basic knowledge of mechanical drawings Good understanding of lubrication and equipment inspection Strong teamwork and coordination skills Knowledge of 5S, PPE and industrial safety Ability to work in rotational shifts
