About this role
Operate company tractors safely for material handling, transportation and plant/site operations.
Drive tractors as per assigned routes and operational requirements.
Perform daily inspection of tractor before starting duty.
Check engine oil, coolant, brakes, tyres, hydraulic system and fuel regularly.
Handle tractor with trolley/trailer and ensure safe loading and unloading.
Follow all traffic, plant and workplace safety rules.
Report vehicle breakdowns, abnormal sounds or mechanical issues immediately.
Maintain daily logbook, trip sheet, fuel and maintenance records.
Coordinate with the supervisor for vehicle movement and work allocation.
Keep the tractor clean and ensure proper care of the vehicle.
Follow preventive maintenance schedules and support the maintenance team when required.
Ensure no overloading and safe transportation of materials.
Required skills
Valid Tractor/Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence as applicable. Good tractor driving and vehicle-handling skills. Knowledge of basic tractor maintenance. Ability to identify basic mechanical problems. Knowledge of safety procedures and traffic rules. Good coordination and communication skills. Responsible and disciplined work approach. Ability to work in shifts and outdoor/plant conditions.
