About this role
Perform ARC/MIG welding and fabrication work on plant equipment and structures.
Carry out welding repair and maintenance of furnace, chutes, hoppers, conveyors, platforms, pipelines and supporting structures.
Execute welding work as per drawings, dimensions and maintenance requirements.
Inspect welding joints and ensure proper weld quality.
Perform cutting, grinding, fit-up and fabrication activities.
Attend breakdown and shutdown maintenance work.
Use welding machines, gas cutting equipment, grinders and other tools safely.
Coordinate with fitters and mechanical maintenance teams.
Maintain welding electrodes, tools and equipment properly.
Follow SOP, PPE, 5S and industrial safety standards.
Work safely in high-temperature, confined and plant areas when required.
Required skills
ARC / MIG welding knowledge Gas cutting and grinding skills Welding of MS/SS and industrial structures Knowledge of welding electrodes and welding parameters Basic fabrication and fit-up knowledge Ability to read basic drawings Welding repair and maintenance experience Good knowledge of industrial safety and PPE Ability to work at height and in plant conditions Experience in Ferro / Steel / Foundry / Heavy Industry preferred Ability to work in rotational shifts
