About this role
Perform welding and fabrication work for DRI plant mechanical equipment.
Carry out repair and maintenance welding on Rotary Kiln, Cooler, Conveyor, Crusher, Chute, Hopper, Duct and structural equipment.
Perform ARC/MIG welding, gas cutting, grinding and fabrication as required.
Repair cracks, damaged components, supports and mechanical structures.
Carry out welding work during preventive maintenance, breakdowns and shutdowns.
Perform proper fit-up and welding as per drawings and maintenance requirements.
Inspect welded joints and ensure required weld quality.
Coordinate with fitters, supervisors and mechanical maintenance teams.
Maintain welding machines, electrodes, tools and equipment.
Follow SOP, PPE, 5S and industrial safety standards.
Work safely in high-temperature and difficult plant conditions.
Required skills
ARC/MIG welding experience Gas cutting and grinding Knowledge of MS/SS welding and fabrication DRI/Sponge Iron plant maintenance experience preferred Knowledge of welding electrodes and basic welding parameters Ability to perform equipment repair and structural welding Basic drawing and measurement knowledge Breakdown and shutdown maintenance experience Good knowledge of industrial safety and PPE Ability to work in rotational shifts Good coordination with Mechanical Maintenance team
