About this role
Perform welding and fabrication work on RMHS (Raw Material Handling System) equipment.
Carry out repair and maintenance welding on belt conveyors, crushers, screens, feeders, hoppers, chutes, bins and supporting structures.
Perform ARC/MIG welding, gas cutting, grinding and fit-up work.
Repair damaged conveyor structures, chutes, hoppers, supports and mechanical components.
Carry out welding work during breakdown, preventive maintenance and shutdown activities.
Perform proper fit-up and welding as per drawings and maintenance requirements.
Inspect welded joints and ensure proper weld quality.
Coordinate with Fitters, Mechanical Supervisors and Maintenance teams.
Maintain welding machines, electrodes, gas-cutting equipment and tools.
Follow SOP, PPE, 5S and industrial safety standards.
Work safely around conveyors, crushers and material-handling equipment.
Required skills
ARC / MIG welding experience Gas cutting and grinding skills Knowledge of MS/SS welding and fabrication Experience in conveyor, crusher, screen, feeder, hopper and chute repair Knowledge of welding electrodes and basic welding parameters Ability to perform fit-up and structural welding Breakdown and shutdown maintenance experience Basic drawing and measurement knowledge Knowledge of PPE, 5S and industrial safety Ability to work in rotational shifts and plant conditions
