About this role
We are looking for an experienced and responsible JCB Operator to operate backhoe loaders and related heavy equipment for excavation, earthmoving, loading, shifting, cleaning, material handling, and other plant activities.
The operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the JCB, daily equipment inspection, basic operator-level maintenance, and timely reporting of defects, while strictly following plant safety procedures and instructions from the Fleet & Automobile Department.
Required skills
Experience in DRI, Sponge Iron, Steel Plant, Mining, Power Plant, Cement, Construction, or Heavy Engineering industries preferred. Good knowledge of JCB operation, excavation, loading, material handling, and site safety. Basic knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, brakes, steering, and electrical systems. Physically fit and capable of working in an industrial environment. Willing to work rotational shifts, including night shifts.

Skilled in operating JCB/backhoe loader in different plant conditions. Good understanding of excavation and material-handling operations. Ability to operate front loader and backhoe attachments effectively. Knowledge of safe operation on uneven ground, slopes, and restricted areas. Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems and equipment troubleshooting. Ability to identify and report mechanical/hydraulic defects. Knowledge of daily equipment inspection and preventive maintenance requirements. Good coordination with Fleet, Automobile, Maintenance, Civil, Operations, and Safety teams. Strong safety awareness and disciplined operating habits. Good communication and teamwork. Ability to follow instructions and SOPs.
