About this role
Responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upkeep of mechanical equipment associated with the pollution-control system in a DRI plant. The role ensures reliable functioning of dust collection and material-handling systems and supports compliance with plant safety and environmental requirements.
Required skills
Relevant experience in mechanical maintenance of DRI/Sponge Iron/Steel plants preferred. Experience with pollution-control equipment and dust-handling systems is an advantage. Good knowledge of fans, blowers, bag filters, ESPs, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, valves, dampers, and mechanical transmission systems. Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance. Basic understanding of equipment alignment, lubrication, vibration, and troubleshooting. Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and equipment manuals. Good knowledge of industrial safety practices and PPE requirements. Ability to work at height and in hot, dusty, and industrial environments as per site safety requirements
Good to have
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability. Knowledge of bag filter and ESP mechanical maintenance. Experience in dust extraction and pneumatic/mechanical dust conveying systems. Knowledge of gearbox, bearing, coupling, belt, chain, and shaft maintenance. Ability to identify root causes of repeated equipment failures. Good preventive-maintenance planning and execution skills. Safety-conscious and disciplined approach. Good teamwork and communication skills.
