About this role
The General Manager – Rolling Mill will be responsible for the overall management of rolling mill operations, including production planning, process control, quality, maintenance coordination, manpower management, cost optimization, safety, and achievement of production targets. The role requires strong experience in steel rolling mill operations and the ability to lead production and technical teams.
Required skills
Manage overall Rolling Mill production and operations. Develop and implement production plans to achieve daily, monthly and annual targets. Monitor production parameters, mill performance, yield and productivity. Ensure production of quality finished steel products as per customer and company specifications. Control and optimize material yield, fuel/power consumption and production costs. Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Quality, Maintenance, PPC, Stores and Dispatch departments. Monitor mill breakdowns, equipment availability and production downtime. Work closely with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance. Identify process bottlenecks and implement corrective and improvement measures. Ensure proper control of heating furnace, rolling stands, cooling bed, finishing and material handling
