About this role
A maintenance engineer plans, runs, and improves preventive and corrective maintenance routines for industrial tools, machinery, and facility infrastructure. They minimize unexpected system downtime, control asset life cycles, resolve complex mechanical or electrical faults, and enforce workplace safety rules.
Key Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance: Design and execute scheduled checkups, filter and fluid replacements, and calibrations to prevent component failures.
Fault Diagnosis: Troubleshoot unexpected breakdowns in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems using technical manuals and schematics.
System Optimization: Analyze performance logs to find root causes of recurring issues and recommend machine modifications.
Compliance & Safety: Enforce industry health and safety protocols, including local codes and lockout/tagout (LOTO) rules.
Data Tracking: Manage work orders and historical repair records using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Required skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field. Technical Aptitude: Deep understanding of electrical controls, PLCs, fluid power, and reading engineering blueprints. Software Literacy: Hands-on experience with CMMS platforms (such as UpKeep or eMaint). Problem-Solving: Analytical capability to isolate root failures quickly under pressure during emergency shutdowns. Communication: Ability to guide technicians and coordinate across departments.
