About this role
Undergo training in ferro alloys production and plant operations.
Learn furnace operation, raw material charging and alloy manufacturing processes.
Monitor production activities and assist senior engineers in daily operations.
Understand submerged arc furnace (SAF) operations and process parameters.
Assist in monitoring furnace temperature, power consumption and production output.
Support quality control, sampling and testing of raw materials and finished alloys.
Coordinate with production, electrical and mechanical maintenance teams.
Maintain daily production reports, shift records and operational documentation.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), PPE requirements and plant safety rules.
Identify operational issues and report abnormalities to the concerned supervisor.
Required skills
Electrical & Power Systems: Knowledge of heavy industrial electrical equipment, high-tension/low-tension (HT/LT) switchgears, power transformers, industrial motors, and control panels. Furnace Operations & Metallurgy Basics: Understanding of Submerged Arc Furnaces (SAF), high-temperature melting processes, raw material batching (quartz, manganese ore, coke), and the chemistry of ferro alloys (Silico Manganese/Ferro Manganese). Instrumentation & Automation: Familiarity with industrial sensors, PLC systems, SCADA, and control room monitoring equipment for continuous manufacturing processes. Mechanical Maintenance: Basic competence in handling hydraulic systems, pumps, heavy material handling conveyors, and mechanical drives utilized in plant operations.
