About this role
Calibration & Testing: Routinely calibrate and test process instruments (transmitters, valves, gauges) to ensure accurate readings and quality control. [1, 2]
Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical control systems during equipment failures or plant shutdowns. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Preventative Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventative maintenance inspections to minimize downtime and prevent instrumentation faults. [1, 2]
System Integration: Work with automation and control systems, including SCADA, PLCs, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). [1]
Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to plant safety guidelines, handle hazardous materials, and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Documentation: Maintain logs of all maintenance, calibration reports, and spare parts inventory using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). [1, 2]
Required skills
Field Instruments & Sensors: Hands-on maintenance of thermocouples, RTDs, pressure transmitters, differential pressure (DP) cells, level indicators, and flow meters used in furnace cooling and gas-cleaning plants. Control Valves & Actuators: Servicing, calibration, and troubleshooting of pneumatic and electronic control valves, electro-pneumatic positioners, and actuators. DCS & PLC Systems: Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and remote input/output (I/O) racks. Technical Drawings: Ability to read and interpret P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), loop wiring diagrams, and hook-up drawings.
