About this role
Safety Compliance & Audits: Regularly inspect plant machinery, shop floors, and operations to ensure compliance with factory safety acts, OSHA/local statutory rules, and company EHS guidelines.
Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIZA): Identify potential workplace hazards, evaluate risks, and recommend preventive or corrective control measures.
Permit-to-Work System: Manage and monitor safety permits for high-risk activities such as hot work, working at heights, confined space entry, and electrical maintenance.
Safety Training & Toolbox Talks: Conduct daily morning toolbox talks, safety inductions for new workers/contractors, and periodic training sessions on fire fighting, PPE usage, and emergency response.
Incident Investigation: Investigate near-misses, accidents, or occupational injuries, prepare root-cause analysis (RCA) reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Emergency Preparedness: Maintain safety equipment (fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, first-aid boxes, PPE) and coordinate mock drills periodically.
Required skills
Core Academic Background: A Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Technology, or a Science graduate (Physics/Chemistry) background. Specialized Safety Credential: A recognized Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) or equivalent state-recognized industrial safety diploma (mandatory for statutory factory appointments under the Factories Act/State Factory Rules).Global Certifications (Optional/Value Add): International certifications like NEBOSH IGC or IOSH Managing Safely are heavily preferred for high-standard HSE management systems.
