About this role
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Manage both preventive and breakdown maintenance of HT/LT power distribution systems, transformers, switchgears, VCBs, and heavy industrial drives.
Furnace & Casting Operations Support: Ensure uninterrupted electrical operations for critical SMS equipment, including Induction Furnaces, Ladle Refining Furnaces (LRF), and CCM drives.
Automation & Control: Monitor, troubleshoot, and perform basic program adjustments on PLC, SCADA, and instrumentation panels governing plant automation.
Shutdown Planning: Lead electrical maintenance activities during scheduled major plant shutdowns and overhauls.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict electrical safety protocols (LOTO procedures, PPE compliance) and maintain statutory electrical inspection records.
Team Coordination: Coordinate with production, mechanical, and safety departments to resolve shop-floor bottlenecks and optimize energy consumption.
Required skills
Furnaces: Hands-on understanding of electrical systems for Induction Furnaces (IF) or Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF), including heavy-duty transformers, water-cooling systems, and power control panels.Secondary Metallurgy & Casting: Familiarity with Ladle Refining Furnaces (LRF) and Continuous Casting Machines (CCM), focusing on puller drives, mold oscillators, and hydraulic/pneumatic electrical interfaces. Heavy-Duty Cranes: Maintenance and troubleshooting of EOT (Electric Overhead Traveling) cranes used for handling molten metal and scrap charging.
