About this role
Monitor and control furnace operations from the control room.
Monitor furnace temperature, voltage, current, power consumption and other operating parameters.
Coordinate with furnace operators and field staff to ensure smooth production.
Monitor raw material charging, melting and alloy production processes.
Maintain production records, shift reports and furnace operating logs.
Identify abnormal operating conditions and coordinate corrective actions.
Ensure adherence to production targets, quality standards and safety procedures.
Coordinate with maintenance and electrical teams during equipment breakdowns.
Monitor power supply and furnace performance to minimize downtime.
Required skills
DCS & SCADA Systems: Hands-on proficiency in monitoring and operating Distributed Control Systems (DCS), SCADA interfaces, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) that control the furnace parameters. SAF Electrical Parameter Monitoring: Tracking and adjusting crucial electrical settings in real-time, including furnace transformer tap positions, electrode current/voltage, active power, and power factor. Process Variable Management: Continuous monitoring of critical auxiliary loops, such as cooling water flow and temperature (for furnace shells, transformer, and busbars), hydraulic pressure systems, and off-gas/bag house dust extraction fan speeds.
