Job Purpose
The Dispatch & Raw Material (Coal) Lifting Officer is responsible for managing both inbound raw material logistics (specifically coal lifting, transportation, and stock monitoring) and outbound finished goods dispatch. This role ensures seamless plant operations by coordinating coal movement from railway sidings, washeries, and mines around the Raipur region, along with timely dispatch of finished materials to clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coal Lifting & Inbound Raw Material Logistics
Coordinate coal lifting operations from coal mines, railway sidings, washeries, or suppliers across the Raipur/SECL network.
Oversee loading and truck movement to ensure daily coal supply quotas arrive at the plant without delays or shortages.
Inspect incoming coal consignments for grade, moisture, sizing, and impurity levels in coordination with the Quality Control team.
Supervise weighbridge operations, tare/gross weight checks, and resolve weight discrepancies with transporters or railway authorities.
Monitor coal yard inventory levels, stacking, and blending schedules to maintain required buffer stock for plant operations.
2. Outbound Dispatch Operations
Plan and schedule daily truck allocations and rake loading for outbound finished goods shipments.
Verify delivery orders (DO), gate passes, packing slips, invoices, and transit documentation before vehicle departure.
Supervise loading activities at the dispatch dock to ensure safety compliance, proper weight distribution, and cargo tying.
Liaise with sales teams, transporters, and 3PL partners to meet customer delivery deadlines across regional and national routes.
3. Documentation, Vendor & Compliance Management
Maintain daily gate entry logs, weighbridge receipts, dispatch records, and update ERP systems (SAP/Tally).
Ensure full compliance with e-way bills, mining transport permits, environmental norms, and local transport union regulations.
Verify transporter bills, track transit losses or demurrage charges, and report discrepancies for billing settlement.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Graduate in Commerce (B.Com), Business Administration (BBA), Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain / Logistics, or Engineering.
Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in coal lifting, raw material handling, weighbridge operations, and dispatch management in heavy industrial plants.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in ERP platforms (SAP MM/SD, Tally, or internal logistics systems) and Excel.
Strong knowledge of weighbridge workflows, e-way bills, delivery orders, and transit documentation.
Local Expertise: Thorough familiarity with coal transport corridors, railway sidings, and transport networks in and around the Raipur/Durg/Raigarh industrial belts.
