About this role
Conduct chemical analysis and testing of raw materials, billets, steel products and finished products.
Perform laboratory testing as per quality standards and specifications.
Monitor chemical composition of steel and related materials.
Maintain laboratory records, test reports and quality documentation.
Coordinate with Quality Control, Production and Rolling Mill teams.
Ensure proper handling, calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Identify quality deviations and report them to the concerned department.
Follow safety procedures and laboratory SOPs.
Required skills
Chemical & Material Analysis: Expertise in wet chemical analysis, titration, and instrumental methods to test raw materials, scrap, intermediate steel products (billets/blooms), and finished rolled products (TMT bars, structural angles, channels, wire rods).Parameter Testing: Capability to conduct routine and advanced testing such as:Chemical composition checks (carbon, sulfur, phosphorus, manganese, silicon content in steel).Slag and flux analysis (CaO, MgO analysis). Factor checking of solutions, standardization of reagents, and loss on ignition (LOI) tests.
