About this role
Drafting & Design Execution: Create accurate 2D and 3D drawings, plant layouts, general arrangements (GA), and piping/structural details using AutoCAD and related design software.
Fabrication & Shop Drawings: Develop clear, manufacturing-ready fabrication drawings, sub-assemblies, and detailed component sketches complete with dimensions and tolerances.
Bill of Materials (BOM): Extract accurate material lists, part tags, hardware schedules, and quantities from engineering designs to assist the procurement and production teams.
Engineering Coordination: Collaborate closely with project managers, structural engineers, and shop-floor supervisors to ensure technical drawings match fabrication constraints and site requirements.
Revision & Quality Check: Review engineering drafts for accuracy, compliance with industrial drafting standards (ISO/BIS), and incorporate design revisions efficiently.
Required skills
AutoCAD Proficiency: Strong command over AutoCAD 2D and 3D for drafting plant layouts, equipment arrangements, and fabrication drawings.Piping & Instrumentation (P&ID): Ability to read, interpret, and draft P&ID diagrams, isometric piping drawings, and utility layouts typical of thermal or power generation plants.Complementary CAD Tools: Working knowledge or familiarity with 3D modeling software like SolidWorks, Creo, or Plant 3D is often a strong advantage. Mechanical Drafting Standards: Deep familiarity with international and national drafting standards (e.g., ASME, BIS, ISO) for symbols, tolerances, and annotations.
