About this role
Implement and monitor EHS & safety procedures across the plant.
Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits.
Identify hazards and perform risk assessments/JSA.
Ensure compliance with PPE, work permits, LOTO, work-at-height and confined-space procedures.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety training and emergency drills.
Investigate accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions and prepare reports.
Monitor contractor safety and ensure compliance with plant safety standards.
Maintain safety records, inspection reports and statutory documentation.
Coordinate with production, maintenance and other departments for corrective actions.
Support emergency preparedness and fire-safety activities.
Required skills
Statutory Compliance: In-depth knowledge of local and national labor and safety laws (such as the Factories Act, 1948, the Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act, and relevant state pollution control and industrial safety regulations). Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA): Ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and hazard logs to identify workplace threats before incidents occur. Incident Investigation: Proficiency in root cause analysis (RCA), writing safety incident/accident reports, and recommending corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
