About this role
Rotary Equipment: Boiler Feed Pumps (BFPs), ID/FD/PA Fans, Condensate Extraction Pumps (CEPs), Cooling Water (CW) pumps, and Air Compressors.
Fuel & Ash Handling: Conveyor belts, crushers, feeders, and pneumatic/hydraulic ash-handling valves.
Turbine & Auxiliary Support: Steam traps, high-pressure valves, gearboxes, and coupling assemblies.Execute precision alignment of motors, pumps, and gear drives using dial indicators or laser alignment tools to minimize vibration and wear.Install and replace mechanical seals, bearings (ball, roller, and thrust bearings), packings, gaskets, and oil seals. Assemble and dismantle complex mechanical components safely using hoists, cranes, pullers, and standard/specialized hand tools.
Required skills
Technical Reading: Ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings, P&ID layouts, equipment manuals, and exploded assembly diagrams. Precision Measurement: Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, outside/inside micrometers, feeler gauges, and dial test indicators. Tool Handling: Hands-on expertise with heavy hydraulic tools, torque wrenches, alignment kits, grinders, and cutting torches.Physical Fitness & Stamina: Ability to work in challenging industrial environments (high temperature, noise, confined spaces, and working at heights during shutdowns).
