Key Responsibilities
DCS Monitoring & Control: Continuously track turbine parameters (speed, vibration, lube oil pressure, steam temperature, condenser vacuum, and generator voltage/frequency) via DCS graphics and displays.
Start-Up & Shut-Down: Execute safe turbine rolling, warming, synchronizing with the grid, and load-ramping according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Alarm & Emergency Response: Acknowledge, analyze, and troubleshoot system alarms, interlocks, and emergency shutdown (ESD) triggers.
Field Coordination: Communicate and direct field operators for valve line-ups, equipment checks, and physical inspections of the TG set and auxiliaries.
Chemical & Utility Tracking: Monitor boiler feed water, condenser cooling water, and chemical dosing parameters.
Logkeeping & Reporting: Maintain hourly operational logs, shift handover notes, and incident/deviation reports.
Required skills
Education: Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation & Control. Experience: Typically 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in thermal power plants, captive power plants, or process industries.
